Are trolls in a bad spot or is it just me?

Since my return to reforged i'm pretty new to LTA so i'm no guru. I've always played and created LOTR type spawn based maps but i enjoy the paths and outcomes LTA/LTF brings.

In my time of playing it, trolls have been pretty enjoyable but i can't help but to feel like they are pretty darn weak and are overall lacking. Starting spread out is one thing but it's not very viable to start on your island base since it is too hard to get heroes there at the start of the game and going north isnt sufficient either since your ally is south and you will need/want to assist him if you're remaining allied.. High priest units are in a decent spot with the chain heals but the heroes are very weak and easy to lose. Loa spirits would be good if you could get both of them but only getting one still feels under powered even though they're a demi-god type hero. King Malakk is a strong path and viable but not alone. Any 2v1 can easily push him out of northrend with no problem and thats simply the end of the game for trolls. Smolderthorn with Zoone is more of a support if anything and also lacking anything beneficial.

I'm just looking to see if anyone else thinks the same about trolls or if there is any changes coming for them in the future? I enjoy the race but i see others avoid it quite often.

In LTA it usually goes like this:
Centralized start > weak early game potential
Spread out start > strong early game potential
Example: The most spread out faction by far is Silverhand, with Dwarves following it. It is impossible to defend all bases, so most players just neglect them and focus on one place.
HOWEVER, these 2 factions have the biggest armies, and if you at the start concentrate them all in one spot, its a steamroll. This is the same for the horde.
Don't play like most people. One game for example I rushed all of silverhand troops to tyrs hand (while creeping with garithos). I put them on ships, landed on stromguarde. Rebuilt it, and got 250g worth of units from events. Me and yellow steamrolled the unsuspecting horde, destroyed Thandol span and it was GG from there.

If you want to succeed with trolls, do unexpected stuff like this. Alliance are very weak in the south of lordaeron, so just transport all your troops south and steamroll Aerie peak. But don't touch dalaran or LB - you want them to keep scourge off your back.
From there kill dragonmaw (they can't match your income) and yellow (they don't have dispel). Either you or horde fortify the outland gate so horde won't backdoor your ass. Then kill dalaran, build your base at twillight hill, own the scourge, and GG.

The rules of LTA are the rules of any war. Concentrate your forces. That's it.

I always do this strat because anything else would fail and thats kinda my point. Going any other path or start destination isnt viable for trolls because your ally is in the south.
