SUMMARY: Planetary Domination has been out awhile now, and although feedback on the terrain and graphics was very positive, the game suffered from many gameplay flaws. In this huge patch many of these problems have been addressed, theres a new resource and research system, new units and new gameplay mechanics. Alot of the annoying and boring aspects of the game have also been removed. So if you enjoyed the setting and look of PDOM in the past hopefully this can persuade you to give it another go!

GENERAL CHANGES:
- RESOURCE SYSTEM: The most major change to PDOM is the resource system. Arkanor (gold) has been completely removed, only Iridium crystals are required to build bases and units.
This removes the annoying need to convert mineral types and the Arkanor mines made the map too similiar to standard WC3 melee games.

- RESEARCH: There is now a new research system, research points are required to expand your technology and evolve your hive. These are generated passively from your Research Arrays or Evolution Pools. This new system of teching adds some extra uniqueness to the map and differentiates it from WC3 or SC2 melee.

- ANCIENT ALIEN TECHNOLOGY: More alien ruins can be found on the surface, these include the warp gates which can activated and work like waygates, opening up the terrain and providing some extra unpredicatbility to a match. Interacting wth these ancient and complex devices requires Research Points.

- RADAR TECHNOLOGY: Both Alien Hives and Human corporations have access to long range radars, these monitor large areas of the map for activity and help in keeping your borders safe.


ALIEN HIVES
- THE HIVE QUEEN: The biggest addition to the alien species is the new Hive Queen super unit. She acts as the Hive Mind to your colony and has a range of useful long range abilities, she can also be upgraded to a powerful addition to the battlefield.
But be careful, for your colony can not survive without its central mind, if the Hive Queen is killed your Hive is doomed. This game design also gives Humans another mission to hunt down the Alien Hive Queens.

HUMAN CORPORATIONS
- Lots of new content: New hero, the Engineer, new experimental units and new Drone unit types.

Well i think this is enough proof on why you are quiting viking settlers.Though i like Viking Settlers this i played and i like too.So keep on the good work and good luck :D.

Might be me being awkward, but version 2.0 of the map is not appearing on MMH anymore :( (it was this evening)

Umm well this was such a big patch its best to think of it as a blank canvas so just asume everythings changes (no sorry I didnt do any patch notes as this was such a huge update).

Might be me being awkward, but version 2.0 of the map is not appearing on MMH anymore :( (it was this evening)
That was me, I played a game of it, I think you were in it actually? It was craxy but fun but I realised there was a big problem with minerals being resourced too fast, basicaly resources were so abundant they became almost worthless. Because this was such a major balance problem I'ved pulled the map while I work on a quick balance fix, it should be available again within 30 minutes to an hour.

I was, and it was ^^. Research and unit building times may be a bit too long, once you get to the bigger units, imo. The rest looks fun! (and I didn't even know you could make wc3 look that way. Awesome)
On another topic, to streamline the diplomacy, you could add a... diplomacy building :D? And make it so you have to research alliances. That way you can put limits on mass alliances, and establish a set of rules. Maybe make it so you can only get 2 person teams, a betray option that gives resources to the betrayed... things like that.

Patch notes for 2.02 Quick Fix:

- Mining Blue crystals is now much slower

- Logistics drones and alien worker drones now have a self destrouct ability

- Mining upgrades are more expensive

- Humans Advanced Clone DNA hp bonus reduced from 200 to 300.

- Ruined buildings have less HP

- Orbital Ion Strike will no longer damage Hive Queen in Fly mode.(can still destroy her in nesting mode).

- High level heroes are more tanky

- Infestors have +5 attack base

- 2 new Warp Gates have been added to help open up the borders of the map.

- Bug where bue had worker drones at SE has been removed.

- More notifications have been added when important experimental units are ready.

- Cost of satelite relay increased from 250 to 400.

- Assault bots have an extra 150hp and slightly increased attack damage.

- Amount of damage healed from Queens Swarm spell has been reduced.

Thanks yea it was a fun game for sure, but I dont think built times on the heavy units needs to be reduced, they are supposed to be fairly rare to get, and if you kill an enemy super drone its good to know they wont be able to get another one straight away. I have reduced some buildtime on some of the less powerful units thought.
And diplomacy cna be a difficult thing to police, the game should be open alliances and there are times when mass alliance is allowed such as if Aliens are overtly wining against humans and the humans want to ally up for a chance to win. So I don;t want to put strict controls on it, the host can enforce their own game rules.

Another quick patch:

GENERAL
- Ancient Alien Archives can be mined by Workers for a small amount of bonus research points.These are dropped of at your Scientific Archive or Evolution Chamber.
- Commander abilities which require researchs warn player in the learn descriptions.
- Homindae have tooltips.
- Iridium Crstals mine out faster, meaning players will to fight over resources more.
- Satelite Blackouts now display a timer showing how long the storm will last.

ALIEN HIVES
- Larvae Hosting research now correctly costs research points.
- Build time on alien units had Colony has been reduced slightly.
- Gargantuans HP increased from 1500 to 1750.
- Infestors cost -1 less food and have +5 attack, +3 armor and armor type changed to medium..
- Host actually costs food now and no longer produce 10 food. Also no longer targeted as a building. (THIS WAS BUG)
- New unit for Aliens: The Swarm Gnat: Small flying creature effective when spammed along with Zerglings.

HUMAN CORPS
- Updated tooltips on Dreadnaughts and Apocalypse Drones.
- Attack Drones movement speed increased from 420 to 520 to help them hunt down alien Queens.

Another quick patch: 2.04

- MAJOR BUG: Dark Green could not gain any research points, this has been fixed.

- Maximum hero level increased from 15 to 25.


- Zergling cost reduced from 15 to 10.
- Build time of Hatcherys reduced from 30 to 15. (This is to help Aliens spread and swarm faster).
- Swarm Gnats armor changed from small to medium.
- Amount of Barbed Tentacles summoned by Brood mother increased by 1.




- Initial energy (mana) of Assault bots increased from 200 to 250.
- Shields have been hardened by 30%
- Energy Cores upgrade now increases energy by 10% not the fixed 100 points before. (This was causing a bug whereby some units started at 0 mana).
- Energy Cores upgrdae has bene reduced from 5 levels to 3.
- Drone Core Experimental Unit has the Tractor Beam ability, this is very useful in hunting down Flying Hive queen late game.

I feel like this is Starcraft in WC3, I have seen a WC3 map in Starcraft but it always seems to crash because I try to siege a city and it crashes. So is this map from Starcraft or is it completely different?
